Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Stampede Hybrid Buffalo is well suited to Brisbane's climate. It has high drought tolerance, excellent shade tolerance and strong recovery from wear, making it a practical choice for Brisbane lawns that experience hot weather, periods of dry conditions and varying levels of sunlight. Stampede has been developed specifically to improve resilience and reliability in Australian conditions.

Stampede Hybrid Buffalo has excellent shade tolerance and can perform with as little as 3 hours of direct sunlight per day. It is a good option for Brisbane yards with trees, fences or other areas that receive limited sunlight. However, shaded areas should not be over-watered, as they generally dry out more slowly.

Once established, Stampede Hybrid Buffalo should only be watered when the lawn shows signs of drying out, such as wilted leaves. When watering is required, deeply soak the top 100mm of soil and water in the early morning for better efficiency. Newly laid Stampede needs thorough watering for approximately 10–14 days, or until it has established.

Stampede Hybrid Buffalo should be mowed regularly and can be maintained between 20mm and 50mm. Never remove more than one-third of the leaf blade in a single mowing. Keep mower blades sharp to avoid tearing the leaves, and consider leaving the lawn slightly longer during winter.

Yes. Stampede Hybrid Buffalo has high wear tolerance and excellent recovery, making it well suited to busy Brisbane backyards. Its strong recovery helps the lawn repair itself after regular foot traffic and use, while its dense growth habit helps maintain a healthy lawn.

The size of a slab of our Stampede Hybrid Buffalo Turf is 1.2 metres x 600mm.

Stampede Hybrid Buffalo is a low-maintenance lawn that has been developed to perform in harsh Australian conditions. Its high shade tolerance makes it a great option for Queensland homes, producing a fantastic lawn with as little as 3 hours of direct sunlight per day when correctly maintained. It is also drought tolerant, making it a practical and reliable choice for families looking for a durable lawn that looks great year-round.
