Rocky Point Tea Tree Mulch

Tea Tree Mulch is commonly used as a ground cover around ornamental plants and Australian natives. It helps reduce water evaporation, suppress weeds, improve soil structure, and prevent soil erosion, saving both water and maintenance time in the garden.

Prepared and tested under strict conditions, this product is certified as an Australian Certified Organic Allowed Input.

Tea Tree Mulch does serve as a natural deterrent to pests, as the shredded bark of the Melaleuca (tea tree) contains natural tea tree oils. It is particularly effective against sandflies and midges, and can help deter termites. However, no mulch can be categorised as completely termite-proof.

When applied at a depth of 50 mm, one bag will cover approximately 1 m².

If you are topping up an existing mulch layer and applying at a depth of 25 mm, one bag can cover approximately 2 m².

We recommend a depth of 50–100mm for weed suppression and coverage when spreading for the first time. If you are simply topping up existing mulch, you can reduce this to 25–40mm.

As Tea Tree Mulch is a finer textured mulch it breaks down at a faster rate compared to chunky barks and wood chips. Under normal conditions, Tea Tree Mulch will typically last 12–18 months in garden beds. We recommend a yearly top up to keep things looking fresh.
