Edenstone Blackbutt Steppers

Our Edenstone Blackbutt Steppers are modern concrete stepping stones designed to replicate the natural look of Australian Blackbutt hardwood while being resistant to rot, termite damage and weathering.

Available in Copper and Driftwood colourways, these stylish steppers are often used for garden pathways, stepping stone walkways, around pools and entertaining areas, between garden beds and within courtyards.

To install Edenstone Blackbutt Steppers, we recommend creating a stable and level base to help ensure they remain secure and comfortable underfoot. The general installation process is as follows:

Step 1: Plan the layout and spacing of the steppers.
Step 2: Prepare and level the installation area.
Step 3: Create a stable base using compacted material or sand.
Step 4: Position each stepper securely in place.
Step 5: Check that each stepper is level and evenly spaced.

Yes. Edenstone Blackbutt Steppers are suitable for a wide range of outdoor applications, including gardens, pathways and entertaining areas. Their durable concrete construction makes them a practical alternative to natural timber while maintaining a warm, timber-look aesthetic.

If you would like to further protect them and keep them in optimum condition, we recommend using a concrete sealant recommended by the manufacturer.

The spacing of Edenstone Blackbutt Steppers depends on the intended use and the natural walking stride of the area you want to cover.

If creating a pathway, we recommend allowing approximately 500–700mm between the centres of each stepper for comfortable walking. You may choose to place the steppers closer together in high-traffic areas or where shorter steps are preferred.

Tip: Before installation, we recommend laying the steppers in the desired positions and walking along them to ensure the pathway feels comfortable and natural.
