Concrete Mix is a versatile blend of cement, sand, and aggregate that is commonly used for DIY projects, including:

• Small concrete slabs and pads
• Fence posts and mailboxes
• Garden edging and pathways
• Repairs to existing concrete
• Steps and small footings

The water ratio when mixing Concrete Mix is extremely important. Adding too much water will weaken the final strength of the mix and can lead to issues down the track. Water should be added gradually until you achieve the right consistency. The mix should not be powdery and stiff or soupy and runny. Instead, wet concrete should have a clay-like consistency where it is able to hold its shape when squeezed in a gloved hand.

CONCRETE MIXER: If using a concrete mixer, add 1.75 litres of clean water per bag to the mixing vessel. Gradually add the Concrete Mix and mix thoroughly.

WHEELBARROW: If using a wheelbarrow, place the Concrete Mix into the barrow, create a hollow in the centre, add 1.75 litres of clean water per bag, and mix thoroughly.

If working to a standard depth of 100mm, one 20kg bag of Concrete Mix will produce approximately 0.009m³ of concrete. As a guide, you can expect to use around 10 to 11 bags to cover an area of 1m² at a depth of 100mm.

Concrete Mix is a pre-blended product that already contains the correct ratios of cement, sand, and aggregate to produce a consistent concrete mix.

GP Cement is simply the binding ingredient. To make concrete using GP Cement, sand and aggregate must be added and mixed together. Using GP Cement gives the user greater control over the cement, sand, and aggregate ratios, allowing custom mixes to be created depending on the application.
