What are 50/65 Bar Chairs used for?

50/65 Bar Chairs are used to hold and secure reo bar and reo mesh at the correct height when pouring a concrete slab or completing other concrete projects.

What does 50/65 mean on a bar chair?

The 50/65 refers to the two cover heights that the bar chair can provide for your concreting project. Depending on the slab specifications, it can support the reo mesh or reo bar at either a 50mm or 65mm height.

How many 50/65 Bar Chairs do I need?

If you are using a standard mesh sheet for your landscaping project, you will require approximately 22 bar chairs to provide even support for the reinforcing steel. We sell F62 half sheets of mesh at Rock N Soil, so we recommend around 11 bar chairs for each half sheet.

Do I really need bar chairs, or can I just lift the mesh during the pour?

We strongly recommend using bar chairs for all concreting projects. They are inexpensive and help keep your reo bar or reo mesh at the correct height while the concrete is being poured. This also ensures the reinforcement remains in the correct position and performs well once the concrete has cured.
