To calculate how much Slash Pine Fines you need for your project, measure the length and width of the area where the mulch will be placed.

Next, determine the desired depth of the mulch. For certified softfall applications, we recommend a minimum installation depth of 300mm to maintain compliance and safety requirements. If you are topping up an existing softfall area, ensure the mulch depth is restored to at least 300mm.

Yes, Certified Softfall Pine Fines requires regular maintenance and occasional topping up to maintain its safety properties. If the mulch is being used in schools, childcare centres, parks, or other public play areas, the softfall depth should generally be maintained between 200–300mm.

Regular raking is recommended to prevent compaction and maintain an even surface. Monthly depth checks should also be carried out. Once the mulch depth falls below 200mm, it is time to top it up.

If you are using Slash Pine Fines as a decorative garden mulch rather than a certified softfall surface, a yearly top-up is generally sufficient.
