Post Mix Cement is an easy-to-use concrete blend commonly used for:

• Setting fence posts, clothesline posts, and bollards
• Securing timber, steel, or aluminium posts
• Small landscaping and boundary installations
• Quick and simple post installations

STEP 1: Dig your post hole to the required depth and diameter, then lightly soak the hole with water. This helps prevent soil from drawing moisture out of the concrete too quickly.

STEP 2: Position your post in the centre of the hole and brace it securely so it remains straight and level during installation.

STEP 3: In a wheelbarrow or mixing tray, combine one 20kg bag of Post Mix Cement with approximately 2.5 litres of clean water. Mix thoroughly until the concrete reaches a workable consistency. Only add a small amount of extra water if necessary, as excess water can reduce the strength of the finished concrete.

STEP 4: Pour the mixed concrete into the hole around the post and compact it to remove any air pockets. Check that the post remains level, then leave the supports in place for at least 24 hours while the concrete cures.

Post Mix Cement begins to set within a short period after mixing and will usually become firm within minutes. It will develop to full strength over the course of 24-48 hours.

The number of bags required for your project depends on the size of your post, the dimensions of the hole, and your soil conditions. As a general guide, most residential fence posts are installed in holes approximately 600mm deep and 300mm wide.
