OxaFert is a pre-emergent herbicide used to help prevent the growth of Winter Grass, Summer Grass, Crowsfoot, Creeping Oxalis, Crabgrass, Bindii, and other annual weeds.

OxaFert is safe for most established warm-season lawns, including buffalo, couch, kikuyu, and zoysia varieties. However, it is not recommended for use on Santa Ana Couch or cool-season grasses such as ryegrass and fescue.

OxaFert is a pre-emergent herbicide, meaning it must be applied before weeds germinate to work effectively. In Queensland, we recommend applying OxaFert in late Winter or early Spring to help prevent Summer weeds, as temperatures tend to rise earlier than in other states. To help control Winter Grass and other cool-season weeds, an additional application in early Autumn is also recommended.

If you want to maintain a consistent weed barrier, OxaFert can be reapplied every 10–12 weeks.

We recommend waiting 3–4 weeks before applying OxaFert to freshly laid turf. While some sources suggest it can be used immediately on new lawns, the manufacturer recommends allowing the turf time to establish before application.

A single application of OxaFert typically lasts around 10–12 weeks. For ongoing weed prevention and continuous protection, reapplying every 10 weeks is recommended.

Application: Apply evenly using a granular spreader on dry foliage and bare areas before weeds germinate. Irrigate lightly after application. Repeat after 7–10 weeks for extended pre-emergent control.
